Period dos and don'ts
Did you know that the pH of your intimate skin is different to the rest of your skin? Intimate skin has a more acidic pH of 4.5 whereas your body’s skin is 5.5. The thin layer of oils on the very top layer of the skin make sure the surface is kept at the correct pH. Soap or shower gels are not pH balanced and can knock you out of balance and cause irritation, odour, and other unpleasantness.
We all know that having your period is no walk in the park. The cramps, bloating, headaches, cravings and fatigue affects almost all women, for 5-10 days each month*. Throw in the heaps of online advice claiming what you should and shouldn’t be doing – and it gets hard to know what to listen to.
